Nope. Not even a little. Move it back to the COMMON ENGLISH Tiberius III. — LlywelynII 01:08, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
The sequence of events of his execution contradicts what's written in Heraclius (brother of Tiberius III). Here, it says that Tiberius and Leontios were killed, then Heraclius and other military commanders were hanged. However, the other article has Heraclius and his comrades dying in 705, some time before Tiberius. Can someone please investigate? Thanks. — howcheng { chat} 18:45, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
According to Grant Sumner ( "Philippicus, Anastasius II and Theodosius III". Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Studies. XVII (1976), pp. 287–294), Tiberius had a son Theodosius, whom he identifies as one of the later Byzantine Emperors. Do we know anything more about his family? The name of his wife? Other children? -- llywrch ( talk) 19:42, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
In the current revision, under "Rule," Justinian is said to have escaped from Cherson in 693 after several years of exile, and sought military support from Khagan Busir of the Khazars, contemporary with Tiberius' time on the throne. That doesn't seem right; in 693, Justinian was still two years away from the end of his first reign.
It seems like a factual error to me, and I would correct it myself, but I don't have a reliable source to hand. Am I the one who's mistaken? ThirdEchelon ( talk) 04:54, 17 May 2021 (UTC)
This is a tertiary source (another encyclopedia), and not a very great one. Why not simply cite the reliable secondary source that source cites, Mango and Scott? -- Green C 14:05, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
