I was 3rd generation to grow up in Throggs Neck. The name is and originally spelled with 2 ‘g’s but the story, according to my grandfather, was that a city sign worker shortened the name in order to make it fit on a sign. BronxGirl68 ( talk) 09:59, 29 May 2021 (UTC)
