There's a mistake in the character description of Leonard - he dates Penny in season 3 for eight months, not two. The same error existed on the page about The Big Bang Theory (season 7), but I fixed it; however, even when logged in, there was no option for me to make an edit on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hymnodist.2004 ( talk • contribs) 05:08, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
Clearly this had not been updated, and I have fixed it. Due to cast contract disputes, the premiere date has been pushed back. Please see the CBS.com's Announcement and scroll down to 10/30. You'll see that there will still be back to back episodes on 9/22, but note they are repeats; this is explained under the 10/30 heading. Also, I don't know where the Futon Critic got his information, but 10/30 is a Thursday so there is no new night (they said Mondays), or at least that CBS has announced anyway. Since Futon got it all wrong, I removed the dates for further pending episodes and simply put TBA. CBS.com is the absolute authoritative source over some silly gossip/rumor site. This edit added the claim that a vanity card was not shown at the end of " The Septum Deviation", but the episode I watched does include a vanity card, and no image. The vanity card shown is #471, which starts with "Just to be clear, I'm still not writing vanity cards". -- AussieLegend ( ✉) 16:00, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Regarding this edit: What do you mean "not as credited"? The punctuation, as compared to the press releases? If that's important, then why are the references deleted when an episode airs? The punctuation in the press releases differs from the on-screen text in the episodes too. The new credits had a reference to cbspressexpress. DarkProdigy ( talk) 18:35, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
Reposting this here from here for further opinions on: 1. Whether punctuation of credits should match the source, at the cost of consistency. 2a. What source should be used? (ex. The press release for today's episode says "WRITTEN BY: Chuck Lorre, Dave Goetsch and Anthony Del Broccolo" while the episode says "story by Chuck Lorre & Dave Goetsch & Anthony Del Broccolo", neither matching how the line appears currently. Also, in the episodes "teleplay by" appears before "story by".) 2b. If the source to be used is the press release, shouldn't the reference be left after the episode airs? 3. If cbspressexpress is a valid reference. It's an official website, but geoblocked. At the time, the press release was not listed on thefutoncritic. DarkProdigy ( talk) 01:54, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

The issue of Kevin Sussman has been discussed previously. While he is credited as starring, the network treats him as a recurring character, so that is how he is referred to in articles, per
WP:TVCAST. He has been credited as starring previously, but is always listed as a recurring character. See
The Big Bang Theory (season 7) for examples. --

Leslie Winkle was only a main character for season 2, and Stuart Bloom was a recurring character in season 7, regaining main character status in season 8. All of the other additional main characters have retained this status after being promoted to main character status. Leslie and Stuart are only credited in the episodes in which they appear. Amy and Bernadette, however, appear in the title sequence. WP:TVCAST clearly explains that
"main" cast status is determined by the series producers. While Sussman is credited on-screen, the producers have continually referred to him as a recurring character in press releases since his first appearance in the series, and so this is how he is referred to in season articles. The producers have also chosen not to include him with the main characters on the lounge in the scene in the opening credits, so it's not just the press releases that exclude him from main cast. He was first promoted to "starring" nearly 3 years ago and, with the exception of the episode that you have changed, he has been referred to as such in all episodes in which he has appeared. Your edit-warring is therefore inconsistent with the way that the season articles have evolved. Note too that the original discussion regarding this is at Talk:The Big Bang Theory (season 6)#Stuart as main character. -- AussieLegend ( ✉) 04:25, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
TBBT characters correctly lists him as being a starring character in Seasons 6 and 8. He should therefore be listed in the Cast Section in this article. I'm not too sure about your assertion that "the producers have consistently treated Sussman in the same way since he was promoted to series regular" given that he was promoted in Season 6, demoted in Season 7, and promoted again in Season 8. Seems to me to be consistently inconsistent. Ricardo Santiago ( talk) 05:21, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
"main" cast status is determined by the series producers, not by popularity or screen time. The number of episodes is irrelevant. The difference between Gilbert and Sussman is that Gilbert was consistently listed as main cast and referred to as such in press releases. Sussman is consistently referred to in press releases as recurring. Gilbert and Sussman's circumstances are significantly different. -- AussieLegend ( ✉) 13:08, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
"main" cast status is determined by the series producers. Nowhere is it specified that screen credits are the only factor, just that the producers determine it. In Gilbert's case the producers consistently referred to her as main cast. That's not the case with Sussman. Perhaps you should ask about this at WT:TV. -- AussieLegend ( ✉) 00:13, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

I initially raised the following issue in the season two article discussion; perhaps further discussion/debate should occur on that page. This section serves as more of an outlining of the problem and a notification as to where it can be discussed.
We can't note where the title comes from unless we can source a RS that explains that; to do so is OR. I will wait about two weeks, as I am guessing that most of the season articles for the series do this. After that, I will remove them completely as unsourced OR. I welcome discussion on the matter until that time. Jack Sebastian ( talk) 15:12, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
