I'm sure this game came out in 1989, not 1990.

Hydlide 3 →
Super Hydlide – Per
WP:COMMONNAME. The article was originally at this title, which is the only title the game is known by outside of Japan, but in December 2011 an editor
moved the article to Hydlide 3, a title which was only used for certain versions of the game in Japan. The editor who moved the page has apparently since left Wikipedia, and though I've read over his rationale for the move several times I can't make much sense of it. He seems to be suggesting that the game was most commonly released as Hydlide 3 in English-speaking countries, but the fact is it was never released under that title in any country but Japan. Relisted.

Do not move - My understanding is that Hydlide 3: The Space Memories was the original title of the 1987 computer game and the 1989 Famicom port, while Super Hydlide was the title of the 1989/1990 MegaDrive-Genesis port. Both sources in the article refer to it as "Hydlide 3", which appears to be the "most common name" for the majority (and original) releases of this game. ☺ ·

Actually, one of the two sources refers to both Hydlide 3 and Super Hydlide - as one would expect, since it's a retrospective on the Hydlide series. The other source only makes a passing mention of the game. Besides, judging which name is most common based on two sources is absurd; if those were the only two sources which referred to the game, it would clearly fail
WP:NOTABILITY requirements. Running the names through a search engine yields 8,500 results for Super Hydlide and only 4,300 results for Hydlide 3. And as stated in
WP:COMMONNAME, which is the "original" title of the game is irrelevant.--

Move to
Super Hydlide and expand; I have found copied of 5 additional reviws for Super Hydlide, and believe the Genesis/MD version is the "primary version" in regards to this subject. ☺ ·

(Move to
Super Hydlide, then...) Merge to
Hydlide. So it appears that the bigger issue here is that this game has very little sourcing. A
video game reliable sourcescustom Google search revealed nothing more than passing mentions. If someone can retrieve the print sources mentioned at
Moby, that could help settle the name dispute (and clarify Super from 3), but even with that, there may not be enough for an article. Merge the currently sourced info to the main game/series's page and build it out
summary style. Redirect both
Super Hydlide and
Hydlide 3. –

I've found all but one of these reviews and have added them in the references section. Thanks for pointing me towards them! ☺ ·

Nice work! Do we have any sources that verify the connection between Hydlide 3 and Super Hydlide? If not, this article appears to be best known as "Super Hydlide" in English, even if the rest of the reference text is in another language... This all said, I'm still in favor of merge—the references, now linked, can be expanded in the parent article and the whole thing can spin out
summary style in time. –

I'm pretty sure all the reviews call it Super Hydlide because they reviewed the GenMD version, and that's what that version is titled. There may be reviews of the other versions of this game (who would call it Hydlide 3), I suppose. ☺ ·
