What is "USD10G"? 10 grand? That doesn't seem like the best way to phrase that. -

The style guideline on currencies is at
Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Currencies, but it doesn't help much in this matter as it gives no guidance on using abbreviations for amounts. I presume that means that you shouldn't use them. In this particular case I have no idea what "USD10G" means. Is that a gigadollar? Wouldn't that be the far more familiar "billions"? -
