"staged combat" or "combat on stage" sound more correct. "stage combat" sounds as if either stages were fighting amongst themselves, or as if stages were used offensively. This is similar to "horsed archer" vs. " horse archer". I realize usage tends to favour the less correct form, but that is no reason for an encyclopedia to do likewise. dab (ᛏ) 13:50, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Some of the information might split off, but there should be one basic entry tracing the development of stage combat as a general topic, before film or reenactment groups existed.

We shouldn't allow links to individual "combat reenactment" groups, since there are probably hundreds of them, and there is no sort of quality or notability control. Stage combat academies or associations are probably fair game, but individual groups will have to argue notability from film, theatre, or reviews or recommendations from notable sources. dab (𒁳) 09:41, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi!
I'm planning on fleshing out the early history section of this article extensively over the next 3 months. I'll be adding more references and tweaking other aspects of the article as well. Feel free to let me know if I'm missing something. Ee1013 ( talk) 15:12, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
