There's a whole lotta debate over singing accents in british music, being Sophie one of the very few examples of singers to solidly keep the speaking British accent while singing, something she's even acknowledged for. It's not about "purity" nor any other elitist discussions, it's just a question that has been put on table may times on the internet (just google it...) and had even made me spontaneously wonder about. BTW, I'm not even a native English-speaker, so this characteristic of her music is something that calls my attention, e.g., just for identifying accents and other English-learning purposes.
I believe her singing accent question doesn't even need to be referenced, as it only takes two or three lines of her singing to capture her strong british roots. It's much of a common sense matter, just like her music style in the first paragraph of the article (something that brings no reference just because it is impossible to say that the statement that her music is "a mixture of mainstream Pop, Disco, Nu-Disco, and 1980s electronic influences" isn't true).
I added the allusion to her accent yesterday, but it was removed since it was sounding like an elitist comment. Ok, I recognize that I may have written it the wrong way, but I only added a note to something strictly OBJECTIVE, which was removed because of the SUBJECTIVE impression had by one reader while checking the article.
This said, I'll be re-adding the note about her accent, trying to improve the writing, and will not be adding any reference, since, again, it's something I believe to be absolutely obvious - even for me, a foreigner whose mother language stands far away from English. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 187.4.24.226 ( talk) 19:53, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
See also the discussion on the unhyphenated (now redirect) page.
The official S E-B site has a hyphen clearly on the front/title page. There is good reason to believe that she is self-hyphenated, having been given both her parents' surnames. Therefore this should be the right page, and the unhyphenated name article should be a redirect here. Until someone can find some evidence. And I don't mean spotting the other version 'on the internet'.
I've added recent info, but I haven't gone for research on her latest singles yet as I was in a hole searching for info on her chart position with Circles... where can I get that info? Will edit further! -- Alex¯Jon

Was circles released in 2004 or 2005? It says 05 in the main artcle but 04 in her discog..
"her debut album, Read My Lips (which made it to number 9 on the charts)" Her discog says that it made it to no.2! Which is right? :P thanks
I'm going to try to find out what songs went platinum & gold & the places they got platinum & gold in. Also their peak on the charts.

I think you should include her theaudience days... like 1998? I'll chack that.. or is that her solo years active?
