Michael Karl Witzel

Michael Karl Witzel - There was a request for clarification of this author and if he was the same man as Michael Witzel. Looking at the page for Michael Witzel, I would have to say that they are not the same person. Michael Witzel is a linguist and professor of Sanskrit, while it appears that Michael Karl Witzel writes about American culture, particularly the car culture of the 50s-60s and about things like gas stations and diners. I have removed the link to Michael Witzel from the article. Here is Micheal Karl Witzel's official website: www.michaelwitzel.com -- Crazyburns ( talk) 15:36, 28 October 2011 (UTC) reply

I suggest changing the reference to "drugstore" to "pharmacy", since drugstore is a peculiarly American term. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.184.41.226 ( talk) 04:20, 2 February 2013 (UTC) reply

Does this writer have any idea to what era historians are referring when they use the phrase "Gilded Age"? (Hint: not the '40s-'50s.) 76.100.252.47 ( talk) 02:39, 9 July 2013 (UTC)stealstrash reply

Agree about used of "Gilded Age". Added a "Clarification needed" tag in that location. 198.27.195.171 ( talk) 23:26, 26 December 2018 (UTC) reply

the jerk levers

I had always heard that while being a pun of soda clerk, the jerk was also due to the fountain being a manually operated pump that required a jerking action to operate. Can someone elaborate? Rhinorulz ( talk) 23:27, 20 July 2018 (UTC) reply
