disputed diversity claim

user:PFHLai added a disputed inline template after the claim that the school is very diverse, but did not start a talk page discussion as is required.

The statement definitely needs a citation (I've tagged it) but the statement that a school with a claimed 0.3% Caucasian students is very diverse seems reasonable to me. In Canada, typically diversity = non-caucasian. Whether the claimed % is accuarate is another issue. Meters ( talk) 03:25, 29 January 2018 (UTC) reply

I have not found a source for ethnicity yet, but the Toronto District School Board states that 418 of 418 students have a primary language other than English http://www.tdsb.on.ca/Find-your/Schools/Facts-and-Figures/schno/4315 which certainly suggests that the school is indeed diverse.
As far as I can see the diversity claim is virtually the only thing that makes this middle school notable. Meters ( talk) 17:20, 29 January 2018 (UTC) reply
The school's home page also features Chinese translations of "Welcome and Information for Newcomers" and "Settlement Services for Newcomer Families". That's very unusual for a Canadian school. Meters ( talk) 17:25, 29 January 2018 (UTC) reply

The diversity claim isn't the only thing that makes this school notable, and it isn't even an accurate claim because the numbers don't add up and most of the students are asian so that doesn't make it a diverse school LeoBLancer2 ( talk) 21:18, 29 January 2018 (UTC) reply

Also, I removed a part that said that the student body was 0% First Nations because that is a redundant statement LeoBLancer2 ( talk) 21:18, 29 January 2018 (UTC) reply

There is no claim to notability in this article other than the currently unsourced claim as one of the most diverse schools in Totonto. I'm not sure if that claim is sufficient, but without reliable sources it won't stay. If you have other reasons the school is notable you had better add them to the article because this article has been tagged for notability by user:Tacyarg and if it ends up at AFD in its current state I'll be supporting deletion. Well, I think the statements about the 7 habit of highly effective teens and trips to Quebec City are enough to make this school notable LeoBLancer2 ( talk) 02:17, 1 February 2018 (UTC) reply

An unsourced claim about a seminar and a school trip? With sourcing they might be worth mentioning, but they don't show notability. Meters ( talk) 21:38, 1 February 2018 (UTC) reply
