Police or Public Safety Department?

Every source I find refers to SGPD as a Police department. A number of IPs have been changing it to say Public Safety, breaking links to images and external sites in the process. Is there a source for the assertion that it's only a public safety department, or are these IPs disrupting the article? — C.Fred ( talk) 02:41, 23 May 2013 (UTC) reply

You've been dealing with the same person using the IP 204.14.79 range. I'm not sure what to make of the person's repeated name changes. Flyer22 ( talk) 03:20, 23 May 2013 (UTC) reply
it is not a police department as per nys department of criminal justice service.
seagate is just like the following agency's co-op city, spring creek, hunts point. all are peace officer departments just like seagate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr Johnson SI ( talkcontribs) 03:47, 23 May 2013‎ (UTC) reply
And where does that department specifically state that it is not a police department? Other editors need to be able to verify your assertion. — C.Fred ( talk) 04:45, 23 May 2013 (UTC) reply
Given that Google turns up no hits for a "Sea Gate Public Safety Department". — C.Fred ( talk) 04:49, 23 May 2013 (UTC) reply
And http://www.seagateny.com/about-sea-gate refers to it repeatedly as the Police Department. — C.Fred ( talk) 04:50, 23 May 2013 (UTC) reply

References # 1 States that this agency is which is recognized by the New York City Police. When you enter the link there is mention of seagate police. Link should be removed and update with correct information. 90Xray ( talk) 17:25, 18 April 2018 (UTC) reply

Cfred you posted an old link from 2015, the current 60 pct link does not mention seagate (police) at all, it should with update with current source information and not old links. 2604:2000:7083:8100:9CEB:7702:F324:6948 ( talk) 20:47, 18 April 2018 (UTC) reply

That's the most recent source I can find that supports the claim. There's nothing improper about using an old source. — C.Fred ( talk) 21:28, 18 April 2018 (UTC) reply
