What's his actual name? The article has both variations but doesn't explain the correct one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.253.186.82 ( talk) 08:42, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
I don't know quite where to fit it in, but you can't have an article on Ron Simmons and not mention his love for saying "Damn!" JPG-GR 02:21, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
He said it once. It is definetly not a catchphrase. -- Kris_Classic
What??? He used to say it all the time when he was in the APA. Cactusrob 19:14, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
its the only thing he says now jbl even mentions it ......DAMM!! Sailor cuteness 16:01, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
On wwe thats all he says and if its not that he says words that rhyme with it for example...spam, sam, jam ect. If you have seen RAW or even smackdown you would see that he has said it well over 100 times. Halo legend 00 11:17, 14 November 2007 (UTC)
I was watching an interview with Ron and he talks about how he was nominated. Can someone double-check if i herd that right that has to be included in this page if its true
It would be cool to have an audio thing of him saying "DAMN!" =D Alcryt 21:29, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
like a ring tone .......DAMMM sailor cuteness-ready for love 14:04, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
"He became a professional wrestler in 1986, and went on to wrestle in World Championship Wrestling under his real name and in the World Wrestling Federation under both his real name and the ring names Faarooq Asad and P. Diddy"
Is this a typo or did he come up with this name before puffy did?
I know this isn't a forum but I was just wondering why the WWE still has Ron under contract, since he doesn't actually DO anything other than walk round backstage. Is the WWE playing on reforming the APA, that would be cool -Jay316 22:50, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Did anyone notcice, that Ron Simmons face was on the draft selection screen, next to Undertaker, on the top line of the Smackdown roster, last night on the 2007 Draft Show? I thought he was on RAW Michaelc2007 13.22, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
It should be included somewhere in the article that Ron Simmons has accepted an offer from WWE to take some time off and get rehabilitation. However, it seems uncertain whether it’s due to violation of the WWE’s “Wellness Policy” (i.e., not using drugs/steroids, not drinking on the job, etc.) or whether perhaps, his bad back is acting up again... Adg2k7 ( talk) 16:04, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
As noted earlier, WWE RAW star Ron Simmons recently took up WWE's rehab offer. Simmons is currently staying at a rehab center in Atlanta. Simmons was last seen on the 12/29 RAW taping in Greensboro in a "Happy New Year's" vignette with Jillian Hall.
The page cited for his date of birth is different than the one listed. However, the year on the cited page (1962) can't be right either because he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1981. Any reliable sources on this? 1958 is the much more likely year. Richjenkins 21:14, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
I suggest this should be changed back to what it previously said, "first World HEAVYWEIGHT wrestling champion" - Simmons was not the first Black "World champion", there were Black world champions in different divisions other than the Heavyweight before this. For example, Rocky Johnson was a World champion (winning the WWF World Tag Team championship with Tony Atlas) before Simmons became WCW World Heavyweight champion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.167.68.199 ( talk) 23:27, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Simmons' WWE Hall of Fame Induction is clearly sourced under http://vids.wwe.com/16128/raw-ron-simmons-announced-as-a-m, and has been re-added accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.50.3.1 ( talk) 04:55, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
When somebody is referred to as "World Champion", 99.9% of the time they are THE World Champion, meaning the World Heavyweight Champion. That's why I get upset when people say things like "Edge is an 11 time World Champion", when he had several reigns as WWE Champion.
However, it turns out Ron Simmons WAS NOT the 1st African-American World (Heavyweight) Champion. When reading this page, you see that Ron Simmons won the WCW Championship in 1992...but if you look up "Iceman" King Parsons, he won the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1986; six years before Ron Simmons won the WCW Championship. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.214.208.193 ( talk) 01:41, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Does there really need to be a mention for every time he says Damn? Just add a note that says "he sporadically appears on WWE programming, delivering his catchphrase "Damn!" in fitting moments." or something. Bacardimayne ( talk) 02:01, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
