Currently, the article has slipped below modern Good Article standards. To keep it as a GA, the following needs to be done:
It's close to a GA, so what I'll do is give you 5 days to start progress and 10 to finish. If this is fixed, it remains a GA. If not, it doesn't. Wizardman 16:32, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
I certainly understand the desire to keep the plot description simple, but I think there are some errors in the final paragraph that need to be corrected, notably that Rocky isn't in the arena to hear the split decision. Rocky does indeed leave the ring before the announcement, but is still in the arena when the announcement is made. I also think it's relevant to state why Mason is considered to have earned his due respect from the fight and why it is that Rocky going the distance is considered so remarkable. Finally, I think that ending the summary with "Rocky then leaves" is too pithy for what is ultimately an emotional scene. I'm going to make a few changes. I look forward to discussing this further. I have removed Dolph Lundgren from the cast as there is no reference to him being in the film. Also the character as per the description is as follows: "Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago. Appearing in the crowd at the end of the match, he wears a pin of USSR flag on his chest, keeping his eyes down, like in a humble, respectful but also somehow defeated way. Curiously, Lundgren/Drago is not quoted in the closing credits, though his presence may suggest his comeback, as in "Creed II"." This is a different actor (much younger), not wearing a USSR pin but rather a red pin with a white diamond shape in it. Frogfisher ( talk) 00:08, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
Could the decision to make Rocky a restaurant owner late in life have been influenced by Weird Al Yankovic's portrayal of him in " Theme from Rocky XIII", which was released over 20 years before? I'm wondering if the filmmakers were aware of Yankovic's song and decided to incorporate aspects of it into this movie. Have they confirmed or denied this? What a hoot! A review section that includes important and 'influential' critiques. These included Entertainment Weekly, the Los Angeles Times, and of course the mainstay of international media Manx Independent. Hey I never knew it had such a powerful opinion in Hollywood!!! Or I am missing something in this "good article"?
Summary says Rocky leaves as it is announced that he wins in a split decision. I don't know why this was written but it is false. He leaves as it is announced he lost in a split decision. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.107.84.180 ( talk) 21:00, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
That is actually one of of the alternate endings, which I think deserves a section all of its own. doctormouse
The plot summary ends with the sentence "Adrian's tombstone is still at Laurel Hill Cemetery in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, just to the southeast of the main entrance." What the heck is that supposed to imply? Was she expected to move or rise up or something? WHPratt ( talk) 19:11, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
The paragraph starting with "Among other positive reviews were those from.." followed by several references is baffling. Are we supposed to click the links to read the reviews, or what? What is the purpose of merely collecting a number of reviews?
No, I added this template to encourage the editors adding the review to actually provide samples of the various reviews and summarize any general consensus. Barring that, I propose the entire paragraph to be deleted, since it is presently nothing more than a glorified link farm, I'm afraid. CapnZapp ( talk) 08:39, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

I wanna thank for the deletion, as fake, of the appearance of Ivan Drago in "Rocky Balboa" at the end of the movie. Yes, the "cameo" lasts only 2 seconds but Dolph Lundgren is there. But he is not in the Cast. Sure, cinema history is made of silly, lil' pearls like that, but who cares? The fun is another page in wikipedia confirms what I tried to add, but no worries, keep wikipedia like that, I won't mess any more and I will say around how it works. I heard recently that there's a upcoming direcotr's cut version called Rocky Balboa: Director's Cut on 4K Ultra HD, and the part of the six film collection on 4K Ultra Blu-Ray.
Not to mentioned that I also heard that they were rumors that the original runtime of the film was 150 minutes long before it was cut down to 102 minutes. Now, we have a director's cut being over 116 minutes long. Stephenfisher2001 ( talk) 01:42, 26 May 2024 (UTC)
