Maybe all the images of eggs should be removed except for one of a decorated egg (the Czech one?)- the article doesn't need pictures of plain red eggs, or regional variations in pattern (too specialised a subject). Xanthomelanoussprog ( talk) 20:16, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
Removed 5 now. Now start hoping they don't get back - or got added at Easter egg, where I had a little something with Candle, trying to add them there instead. That article is loaded to teeth with pictures, really. Hafspajen ( talk) 22:33, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
Illustrations are important. The myrhbearer illustrates something discussed in the article. The caption should probably make clear she holds a red egg. The red greek orthodox eggs illustrate that tradition. They dying photos and the leaf technique are also illustrated (these are used to make red eggs). I could see maybe removing one or two, but how are any of the images detracting from the article exactly? Candleabracadabra ( talk) 22:34, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
(ecx2) I went ahead and removed
I haven't had time to research this in particular and it may not be directly relevant. As noted in my edit summaries, the use of red eggs in cuisine and historical art works illustrating their significant cultural role are worth maintaining. As are illustrations of the various techniques use to prepare and decorate red eggs. It's a big subject I know and there are many significant aspects. Feel free to expand accordingly so the text covers these aspects appropriately. Candleabracadabra ( talk) 22:42, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
