I would like to suggest that this Rbk Edge article be moved to the title NHL uniform or NHL jersey, with (eventually) a full history of the NHL jerseys/uniforms. hockey jersey currently has some information, but it is mostly on NHL jerseys which should be a specific article, not just "hockey" jersey. the Rbk Edge would just just one of the headings of the NHL uniform/jersey article. Thoughts? TheHYPO 22:30, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
Can anyone confirm whether players all use identical socks (same brand and model) or if they can choose their own brand like pants, helmets, gloves, skates, etc.? Thanks. TheHYPO 08:34, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
All but maybe one sentence of that article talks about the NHL. If we want this artilce to be comprehensive, let's bring that information into it. Croctotheface 00:20, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
I didn't think it made sense/was accurate that the Authentic jerseys had jock tags either, but I looked all over the net for any image, be it an auction, store site or anything that had an actual photograph of an 07-08 authentic jersey other than the stock generic photo, and I couldn't find a single one. Until there's a source, that shows they don't have a jock tag or something to reference, I don't think it can be deleted. I'd like to see what the actual team stores in team's own arenas are selling, as those would be the most "official" sources of jerseys, I'd think. NHL.com clearly lists not only in its buying guide, but also on the jersey page themselves that authentics have jock tags (NHL/Centre Ice ones with #ed sizes, as opposed to just NHL ones with letter sizes for replicas - since they mention a whole different style of tag, it seems unlikely to be a typo...). I'm not suggesting anyone is lying or mistaken about what they've seen, but until it can be corroborated by others, it seems like it should remain a mention on the talk page TheHYPO ( talk) 21:59, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
The information on nhl.com is conflicting, therefore how can they be used as a credible source, the image on their own site clearly shows there is no jock tag despite what the style guide says. It is also common knowledge to jersey enthusiasts that there is no jock tab. Therefore, by your logic I think the whole jock tab section of the article should be omitted until a consistent source can be cited definitively instead of having false information on the page. I walk past the NHL store in Manhattan every day, looked at the jerseys minutes before making my post and own a jersey purchased from the NHL online store and all referenced jerseys have no jock tab. The only difference between the actual jersey the players wear and the Edge jersey in stores is the "center ice collection" tag sewn inside the neck-line of the jersey. 66.65.3.96 ( talk) 22:44, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Here is an ebay auction picture; this is clearly an authentic Edge jersey sans any "jock tags" and has the retail tags still on the sleeves proving it is a consumer model. 66.65.3.96 ( talk) 23:08, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Also see this which gives a detailed look at both the replica and the Edge jersey. 207.237.92.240 ( talk) 00:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
The reason this is important is because there are very little resources on the Internet about these jerseys and less than honest people try to sell replicas as authentics. If someone sees on Wikipedia and gosh even on nhl.com that these jerseys have a jock tab when in fact they don't, they can be taken advantage of. 206.15.101.44 ( talk) 16:07, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

The current version says: "All of the Original Six teams (except for the Boston Bruins) as well as the New Jersey Devils kept their previous styles intact when possible." I'm not sure that's totally accurate with respect to the Toronto Maple Leafs. I know all they did to the Leafs' sweaters was remove the tail stripes and they carried basically everything else, and that may seem like a relatively minor change, but that was considered an unwelcome, major change by the majority of the fan base. When they switched to their more traditional current design, one of the major points of interest was whether or not the tail stripes would be restored (And, not to mention, the main reason they made the change in the first place was the dissatisfication with the original tail stripe-less design). At the time when the new Edge uniforms were originally released the explanation you often heard was that the tail stripes didn't work with the way the new RBK Edge were fabricated, but there was nothing at the time really preventing them from using the design template they (and most of the other teams in the league) use now, and even if you look at the current blue Rangers or white Kings sweaters, you can see that tail stripes actually were compatible with the template they did use from 2007-2010. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.44.232.2 ( talk) 02:27, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
