The persecutions against Jews and Arabs was not only in terms of their religion (Judaism or Islam), but also was based on their race. Even the Christians of Jewish ethnicity wee seen as "dangerous foreigners". What is more, Spain - along with Portugal, France, England and the Netherlands - is a country that took an active part in the Atlantic Slave Trade and trading the Black Africans as cargo. Of course many Americans confuse the Spanish Europeans with the "Spanish" Latinos. But the ORIGINAL Spanish people are European. Nowadays some Spanish people are still racist mostly against Blacks (they, as well as Moroccans call them "cockroaches"), and Gypsies. The case of Spanish input in the Atlantic Slave Trade should be mentioned as a "motor" for racism in Spain. This article should be developed. Why someone gave it a "low importance" badge? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.218.158.26 ( talk) 08:57, 20 January 2014 (UTC)
Also the Saqaliba should not be omitted. Those were the Slavic slaves from Eastern Europe, who were kidnapped by Muslims and transported to Muslim lands and Spain as well. Spanish people saw Slavs as "White slaves" also called them 'the dirty version of Whites" or "White Negroes". 91.218.158.26 ( talk) 11:17, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Someone should translate this directly from there. It is extremely interesting exercise of historical research. This article is a load of crap tbh.
