Just a quick glance at the What links here, of about 150 links to this page, none of them appear to be anything but Runs batted in. Does anyone think this should be a disambig or redirect right to the main article? Metros232 12:36, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
If one does a google search for RBI, the first link is to
Reserve Bank of India. The Americans are taking over! --

The result of the proposal was no move. — TKD:: Talk 01:32, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
RBI (disambiguation) → RBI — RBI is an acronym for several popular terms like Reserve Bank of India and Run batted in. Therefore, RBI should be a disambig page and not a redirect. — Grubb 18:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia's naming conventions.Though RBI has many potential meanings, WP:DAB instructs "When a reader enters a given term in the Wikipedia search box and pushes "Go", what article would they most likely be expecting to view as a result?" This would seem to favor run batted in. — AjaxSmack 04:40, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm not going to relist the move for the moment, and I take the point above that baseball fans are probably a majority in Wikipedia. But surely, that's not the issue.
Is it really suggested that an obscure baseball term is the primary meaning? http://data3.blog.de/media/132/2333132_da3e2cd0e8_m.jpg gives the logo for Radio Berlin International. Most Germans speak English. English Wikipedia caters for all English speakers, not just native speakers. In India, of course, RBI means Reserve Bank of India. Fewer Indians speak English proportionately than Germans, but there are a lot of Indians. Few of them would have any idea what run batted in meant, or even even recognise it as a well-formed English phrase. Andrewa ( talk) 02:01, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Juzz search "RBI" in the most popular search engine google and see the result. This is utter nonsense to make "run batted in" the redirect page for RBI. They juzz think that native English speakers are the only people who use internet. Such a coward act to protect the editing of page RBI after redirecting it to "run batted in".

The result of the proposal was no consensus for move. Per the discussion, the baseball term is put forward as the primary topic by the opposers and since no one provided any research to back up that basis for opposition, I note that this search verses this search supports that contention.-- Fuhghettaboutit ( talk) 00:48, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia's naming conventions.A search term "RBI" in wikipedia should list out the different stuff which has the same acronym when more than one terms are popular as in this case. Bharathmeister ( talk) 20:56, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
A Google search with the words RBI gives Reserve Bank of India as the the first hit. I suggest that RBI should be a disambiguation page, if not a redirect to Reserve Bank of India. -- Belasd ( talk) 18:26, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Reasons already stated here during last move proposal. Baseball usage in English language far outweighs any other usage. Please show that it even has other common usage among English speakers (just because the abbreviation exists doesn't mean it is commonly used). And please be ready to fix the many exisiting wiki-links. JustSomeRandomGuy32 ( talk) 18:20, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
How many people outside US even know of baseball? -- Rsrikanth05 ( talk) 07:20, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
An editor has identified a potential problem with the redirect
RBI and has thus listed it
for discussion. This discussion will occur at
Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 January 27#RBI until a consensus is reached, and readers of this page are welcome to contribute to the discussion. ---
