Good question. I, too, am baffled. But someone called
User:Eixo claims it as his creation and
this page of his claims 'This user is drunk'. Perhaps that helps explain the communication difficulty... :-)
He did create the article here, and it is sourced from the Catholic Encyclopedia. I just wish someone would translate the Latin for the rest of us. Apparently is has been translated in "Early Christian Hymns" (see
[1]), but i seem unable to match the four verses to the English ones. --
