To Sale of private property in a public auction:

Sometimes a seller just whants to know the real value of (otherwise not evaluable) something.

That's not really sale of private property in a "public auction" - that is just sale at a regular auction, with some price floor below which the sale will not be executed. bd2412 T 02:08, 8 January 2011 (UTC) reply
I probably don't understand the word "public". Does this word have opposite in "private" in this context?

Wrong - it is not only for private property. "Public" means that everyone may tke part. -- House1630 ( talk) 17:40, 12 January 2013 (UTC) reply

"The above statement is NOT true. There are private auctions and public auctions. Private auctions you must be a licensed dealer. Such as is the case at many automobile auctions. However a public auction is ANY auction, INCLUDING both Government auctions and privately owned auctions, that are open to ANY member of the public where there is no requirement to be a licensed dealer. I can state this for a fact as I am half owner of a PUBLIC Auction."

he 'other languages' sidebar links to a Polish article "zamówienia publiczne", which is incorrect. "Zamówienia publiczne" is more like 'government procurement'. However, wiki won't let me delete this link. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.231.7.186 ( talk) 14:20, 21 October 2014 (UTC) reply
