The geometrid name Propithecia Vojnits, 1985 is probably a junior synonym of Eupithecia Curtis, 1825 (see Rindge, F.H. 1987, Bull. AMNH; v. 186). The extinct primate genus name Propithecia Kay, Johnson & Meldrum, 1998 was a junior homonym, and as such was replaced by Proteropithecia Kay, Johnson & Meldrum, 1999 (see Kay et al , 1999. Am. J.
