The article says that "In the worldwide marketplace, PlayStation 3 is currently behind its competitor systems, the Xbox 360 and the Wii, both overall and in monthly sales." In my opinion this statment is controversial (in case of xbox).
According to vgchartz.com PS3 sold better in last 5 weeks than Xbox 360. It is true that since PS3 launch (roughly last 8 months) Xbox sold more units than PS3 (about 5 million compared with PS3 4 millions) but when we align launches and compare how much PS3 had sold in its first 8 months with how much Xbox 360 had sold in its first 8 months we get almost the same results: Xbox 360 - 4.138 mln units, PS3 - 4.108 mln (it can be easily seen in World->Hardware chart when we "align lanunches"). This still gives Xbox 360 a little advantage but it will probably change when last week results will be counted.
In my opinion the statment should be changed to sth like this: "In the worldwide marketplace, PlayStation 3 is currently behind its competitor systems, the Xbox 360 and the Wii, in overall sales and behind Wii in monthly sales. Monthly sales of Xbox 360 and PS3 are comparable". _________________________ Your argument was perfectly valid until you mentioned Vgchartz. Sorry. 7FlushSetzer 06:22, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
According to http://money.cnn.com/2007/11/15/news/international/sony_playstation.ap/index.htm The xbox 360 has sold 11.5 million in 12 months and the ps3 has sold 5 million in less than a year (7-8 months in Europe) So even if its 3/4 of a year thats 0.55 million per month while the 360 seems to have averaged about 0.48 million per month. So it seems unlikely that ps3 is loosing the console war. Does selling less so far even meen there loosing the war. What if the sales numbers are increasing at a higher rate than the 360s? Does anyone have the actual average monthly sales? The 360 has been out longer than the ps3, I dont think a total sales count is fair.
It says Smackdown vs Raw 2008, which isn't out yet so that can't be right, and the source for that says it's Resistance. Someone should change that.
Acording to [1] which I think is a good sorce haha says that NCAA® Football 08 is the top game. -- Vdub49 01:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
The list of "Top Games" at [2] is just a list of games that are selling the most copies right now, which does not necessarily make it the "Top-selling Game" entirely. If you think about it, it's unlikely that NCAA 08, or any other game for that matter, could sell more copies in a month and a half than Resistance could in nine months. -- Operation fluffy bunny 08:04, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Thats true... one month compared to nine months. Is this supposed to be monthly top seller or all around top seller? -- Vdub49 16:34, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
I changed Resistance from 2 million to 1.7 million based on a VGCgartz.com and then someone reverted it because they said that it's not reliable. How is it unreliable exactly? How would the AP know better than a site dedicated to video game charts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jordinho ( talk • contribs) 15:56, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
In the article it states the following:
"According to the Amazon.com sales rankings, the price cut has increased PlayStation 3 sales by 3200%, far surpassing Sony's 200% target."
This is both misleading and inaccurate. Amazon.com admits on their site that sales rank is not an indicator of total sales volume increase. Rather it is the percentage that an item has moved in the rankings [3]. The two are quite different. As such, the sales increase at a single online retailer is not reliable as a source of an overall sales increase.

I think this should be included, especially in light of the 33% XBOX 360 failure rate.
I think that it should be put in the hardware section as it is hardware related ( Truth jay 20:42, 24 September 2007 (UTC))
that article is clearly BS. the thing about a freezer and sauna is clearly fabricated, almost anything would break from that. i would like to see an unbiased sorce actually try this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.165.59.39 ( talk) 11:00, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
This article reflects the enormous level of FUD against the PS3. I've been following the console wars for a while, and I do find the level of hostile fanboyism and misinformation from all sides to be rather unreasonable and detestable. Sections of this article read like they were written by fanboys of other consoles who go out of their way to discredit the PS3. Information and arguments which favor the PS3 seem to be mysteriously omitted. Negatives seem to be amplified to the limits of what Wikipedia might let slide. I would caution any reader to take this article with a grain of salt, as it is part of the battleground for the raging console wars, and it's encylopedic integrity is questionable. The article is very actively editted by its subject's detractors. 24.23.231.54 17:58, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

This article has several parts that are either out of date or plain wrong. First and foremost it says that the PS3 is currently in 3rd in sales and Marketshare, that is incorrect, it is now in a strong second for Sales and only in 3rd in Marketshare in the United States, 2nd in Japan and 2nd in Europe.
strong second? is it the xbox 360 or the wii that you think it has passed? xbox 360 is about 12 mill, wii is about 11 mill, and ps3 is about 6 mill... that isn't a strong second, that is a distant THIRD. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.165.59.39 ( talk) 11:05, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, this article is written in a way that paints the PS3 in an unfavorable light and does not follow NPOV. 75.21.103.254 14:25, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
I think you sound like a fanboy of the PS3 who still hasn't caught on that it isn't as good as either the XBOX 360 or the Nintendo Wii. What you call a "negative slant" is the truth; the PS3 was not as good a console. I was actually going to suggest that it is painted in to good a view, especially in the reception section of the article. Popular culture condemns the PS3 as being too expensive, having poor controllers that haven't changed since the original PlayStation, and a lack of good games. Stop whining. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.23.251.224 ( talk) 23:23, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Poor controllers? I have not read ANY article criticizing the PS3 controller. It is, has been, and always will be, the gold standard of gaming controllers. If you are referring to the lack of "rumble" feature, only a small percentage of gamers care about the rumble functionality, and that is being addressed with the upcoming DualShock for the PS3. Six-axis controls work great if the developer integrates them properly. It's no coincidence that, after the abomination that was the XBox controller, Microsoft ripped off the basic design of the XBOX360 controller from the PS3. Still, putting the left analog where the d-pad normally is makes the XBox360 controller extremely uncomfortable and awkward to use. And don't get me started on how bad the controller was for GH2 on the 360. Fanboys need to relax, just keeping playing your little Gears of Gayness, and leave the real gaming to us. 66.239.165.210 21:49, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
I agree with 24.23.251.224. The reception section has both sides, some publications that are positive and some that are negative. Bsed on number of units sold, it has not sold as well compared to the other consoles. You cannot expect Wikipedia to be praising the console just because some people thinks it is the best. It you think it is too negative, state it. Don't just go it is too negative just because you think it is the best console. Icaazn614 01:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
It feels like this article now slants the opposite direction. While the praise of the PS3 is well detailed in the article, the criticisms are vague and non-specific. It talks about an EGM article that details all the criticisms and problems, but fails to mention a single example of what was discussed in said article. Meanwhile, it seems to include praise from all manner of sources, including the head of Shiny Entertainment. Yes, Shiny is a video game company, but are they really as valid a source than any number of gaming journalists out there, or is it just padding the praise? I think it's the latter. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.9.4.50 ( talk) 20:11, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
I'd just like to know if the BlackMagic Intensity HDMI capture card can capture digitally gameplay footage in HD off of the PS3. -- Jack Zhang 18:05, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
I doubt it since HD output requires HDCP which means it's encrypted. If a HDMI card is made properly not to get into legal trouble it can't capture protected content. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.181.10.145 ( talk) 17:36, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
Sony marketed the PS3 as the "Center" of your entertainment center. However, they did not include an IR interface. Anyone who as an entertainment center, worth mentioning, has already bought a universal remote control which highly likely doesn't have bluetooth support. Now, what was Sony really thinking? Is this really an oversight? Or, does Sony have a bigger plan in mind? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 206.248.139.85 ( talk) 02:41:25, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
Clearly Bluetooth technology is far superior to Infrared, i have never heard such a comment about infrared for a ps3 before, although using a remote to point at the Wii for instance can be annoying at times. Being able to use both the Blutooth Ps3 controller and Blu-Ray remote from anywhere even other rooms while not pointing at a certain point is much better. So Bluetooth is a obvious benefit while Infrared is more of an redundant technology. Denzelio 21:56, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, I bought one the other day, before opening it, found out about the lack of IR. It was such a turn off, that I returned the thing the next day. I am not lazy, but the PS3 made it to my house for the Blu-Ray and I couldn't see myself juggling two remotes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.248.139.85 ( talk) 01:42, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
In a few years I would think the old IR Universal remotes would be replaced with BlueTooth Universal Remotes, all that needs to happen first is Televisions to adopt the BlueTooth Technology as the Television is always the Primary remote in a household and the others would then follow ie. Stereo, Dvd>Blu-ray Player..... So unless a later slimline version of a PS3 has a IR sensor and or by that time if BlueTooth Universal Remotes exist i doubt the PS3 will support IR Remotes. "In the worldwide marketplace, PlayStation 3 is currently behind its competitor systems, the Xbox 360 and the Wii... ...likewise the PS3 sold 2.5 times more units in June than the Xbox 360." Is it just me, but does the first part say that the PS3 is behind the Xbox, but the second part claims that it is ahead? Someone less lazy than me might want to fix this up. 59.167.93.124 13:24, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
I Believe it's refering to te fact that it's total sales figures are lower, but the monthly ones are higher, i can understand both existing at once. ReZerO 05:31, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
actually, the problem is the sentence structure. But if you read closely the sentence reads "In Japan... likewise the PS3 sold 2.5 times..." The first sentence is in regard to worldwide sales, where the PS3 is behind Xbox 360, and is being outsold by the Xbox 360 in monthly sales. The second sentence is only about Japan. In Japan the PS3 outsells the Xbox 360 (surprise, surprise), but the Xbox 360 sells so much more in the rest of the world it makes up for its low Japan sales and still sells more monthly than the PS3. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.165.59.39 ( talk) 11:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

In the publicity and reception section section of this article, I count twice more positive reception paragraphs, and two negative ones, one being extremely small. I think this is very POV. I noticed a lot of negative publicity missing, for example the whole violent episodes that occurred during the opening night. This section should be rewritten so that it's not POV. C. Pineda 03:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
I think the violence has little or nothing to do with the console. It's a news story about avarice. How exactly did the PS3 cause wealth disparity and the will to break the law for personal gain? There isn't a need for "negative" views on a random neutral consumer item. There is note some liked it, some didn't. The machine itself isn't the devil. The company behind it screwed up a lot with PR but the machine itself does not kill babies. Request we portray it more negatively is painting yourself in a bad light. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.75.33.118 ( talk) 10:32, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Actually, cut the whole reception and publicity section, just leave the features of the PS3, that way this article will be more neutral. Plus the reception and publicity could change in the future, so no point in trying to conclude something that is inconclusive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.10.155.39 ( talk) 09:39, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
If that is the case, does that mean there should not be recetion and publicity section in any wikipedia articles. I do not think we should delete a the reception section just because some fanboy thinks the Playstation 3 is the best console ever. I am a Wii fan, but I accept the flaws in the Wii. I do not go crazy that there are negative stuffs about the wii its own article. Plus, I think the reception is a great way to show the reaction of the people. Something sales records cannot show. It is just a number. Fanboy needs to understand not everyone thinks PS3 is the best console in the world and they just need to accept it. 69.25.227.57 08:09, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

The same number that function well upscaled will also function on the 80gb version. The upscaler is a emulator and does it in software. It seems to be around 80% without problems. I think Sony's site has an official list.

the ps3 has some hotly anticipated games, Sales are inline with the other HD system, prices have been cut and the failure rate is rather low. So... yea, either someone lied to you or they mistook the phase out of the 60gig for the cheaper 80gig's to be a recall. 207.210.20.237 07:36, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
why on earth would any company plan a recall for a device that is not defective or dangerous. We should remove this section because it's such a blatantly useless post. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.75.33.118 ( talk) 10:36, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
It's more likely the Xbox 360 would be recalled in Japan then the PS3 be recalled in any region as no sales in any region have been as low as Japan 360 Sales, and the fact a console with 33% failure rate is left on the shelves not recalled and or marked down is disturbing. Still i think only a Xbox fan would come up with a rediculous rumour of a PS3 recall. Denzelio 23:10, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
a recall for what? that it's so perfectly built that they want it back for the pricey components so they could sell it to Microsoft for their 2billion dollar faulty console? Markthemac 01:25, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
actually the rumor is a bit more factual than that. sony would never order a recall themselves, but sony is being sued over... their cell i believe. i never payed much attention to the law suit, and i read this months ago, but some company has a patent that the cell infringes on or something and they want money and a total recall of all ps3's. i don't know the current status of this law suit, but if they win 100% then there will be a recall, but i doubt a judge would grant that, and if they win they probably will get X dollars for ever ps3 sold. i might try and find out more about this suit later, but this is the only recall rumor i have heard. 142.165.59.39 00:34, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
What's with referring to MB in some sections and MiB in others? It looks terrible, and is confusing. Stick with KB, MB, GB, or the "binary" prefix KiB, MiB, etc. My preference, for the record, is KB, MB and GB. Sjhill 18:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

It says in the aritcle that in most cases the PS2 is outselling the PS3, but it fails to mention that the PS2 is also outselling the Xbox 360. 75.52.170.140 20:17, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
This is an encyclopedic entry, not a fanboy blog to compare the merits of the PS3 to the Xbox 360. A listing of the PS2's sales performance compared to the Xbox 360's is outside the scope of the article. You should post your complaint in the Xbox 360 article's discussion if you feel that it is relevant to the Xbox 360. And please remember to sign your comments. Bdhoff 22:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
It also fails to mention that Apple once made a console called the Pippin that sold fewer consoles in its lifespan than the PS3 sells in a week. But really, is this on topic? The PS2 outselling the Xbox 360 doesn't have anything to do with the PS3, so why should it be included? Unfair statement? No, accurate statement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.165.59.39 ( talk) 11:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Why does this not even get a passing mention in the article? A lot of people bought the PS3 thinking it could do bitstream output of Blu-ray's DTS-HD MA audio, but when receivers finally rolled out that could take the input we found out that the PS3 had left off this apparently optional feature of HDMI 1.3. This is a pretty big controversy in the world of Blu, I think it deserves mention. -- Ray andrew 13:52, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Thats the first I've heard of it, this is not "the world of Blu" this is a ps3 artical. wheres your source? And if you have one where does it say that they won't include it in a firmware upgrade since it's "optional"? -- Vdub49 21:05, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
Well this article is about the PS3 and playing Blu-ray discs is one of its primary functions. Sources are forums and blogs over the last several months (do a search), but all say that the HDMI output chip in the PS3 is not capable of passing bitstream for DTS-HD or TrueHD. Many people are quite upset about this as none knew that this was an optional part of the HDMI 1.3 spec until recently. -- Ray andrew 21:28, 11 September 2007 (UTC) Link: http://www.engadgethd.com/2007/05/08/no-dolby-truehd-or-dts-hd-for-ps3-owners/ -- Ray andrew 21:35, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
The minutiae of the PS3's audio settings are even less clear. Neither of the two BD Audio Output format options--Linear PCM (the default) and Bitstream--is explained. I had to go to Sony directly to find out.
The PS3's default is to convert recognized audio streams to Linear PCM, an uncompressed audio format, for output via HDMI or digital optical audio. This can be advantageous if, for example, you're outputting to an HDTV that has built-in speakers and decodes only Linear PCM. If you're using your own home theater receiver, though, you'll want to use the Bitstream setting: In this mode, the PS3 passes the audio "bitstream"--be it Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, or DTS-HD--through to your receiver via the HDMI or optical connector; from there, the receiver decodes the audio and outputs it to your speakers.
I would like to note that the Playstation 3 article in Wikipedia has a few minor errors with respect to past-present tense usage. For instance, the article says that "Sony have...", however the correct usage of the past-present would be to say that "Sony has...". I understand that this a minor correction, but it would help to clean it up.
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.234.149.2 ( talk) 17:25, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Now, PS2 contained two major processors, the EE and the Graphics Synthesizer (GS) which, after each having gone through some silicon shrink steps individually, got combined onto a single die. This single EE+GS chip powers the later PS2 units (likely from the time of the PStwo redesign). I would expect this chip (EE plus GS) to have been embedded in the early PS3s -- not just the EE. Can anyone confirm this? The Seventh Taylor 21:11, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Was checking out g4 website and on the feed they have more proof that the $400, 40gb PS3 is coming. They even think the release date is Oct. 28. I'm not saying that we should add this officially on the article yet, but I'm getting goosebumps!-- Playstationdude 01:15, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

The New 40GB PS3 will not allow for any Backwards Compatibility at all and is very surprising. As at first Sony decided to remove PS2 Compatibility chips in order to save with Production costs, and instead chose to use 'Emulation Software', which as a result leads additional time being taken to further include PS2 tittles under Emulation, rather then straight 100% compatibility through Dedicated PS2 Chips. Yet the New Console has neither the PS2 Chip nor Emulation Software, So this may just be an insight into later Versions of the PS3 and or a later Slim-line version at a later date ofcourse. Sony had stated that they didn't want to focus on just updating 'PS2 Emulation Software', and this system that was a result of 'Extensive Research' may just show that with out demand for PS2 support later versions may not include 'PS2 Software Emulation' in future systems yet to be Released. One of the strong points for the PS2 was the Backwards Compatibility, The PS2 was the first system to offer Backwards Compatibility, and the new 40GB PS3 is now the first to remove Backwards Support for Modern day Consoles. So for the new model you may just have to sacrifice your PS2 collection or hold on to your PS2 console for the foreseeable future. In basic this PS3 model is now the first current Next-Gen Console not to include backwards Compatibility. Denzelio 23:40, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

With the Addition of the new 40GB Model the 'Retail Configuration' Table is getting Confusing, Can someone either mention next to or under the 20GB & 60GB that they are now 'DISCONTINUED' or give them a Color to Signify this as their obviously isn't 4 different types of PS3 Consoles available in Retail Stores. So, I know Jack Tretton bet 1200 dollars that no PS3 on store shelves would last more than 5 minutes without being bought, as it says in the main article. Could someone please add that the guys from Penny Arcade, as well as Handsome Tom and Stuttering Craig from Screwattack both tried to get Jack Tretton to pay them something like 50 K USD because they hung around a Gamestop or something and watched a stack of PS3s not get sold for more than two hours? I believe that this is on the article for Screwattack itself on Wikipedia.
They did not receive their money, and Jack Tretton never even responded.

The article states "It was also revealed that the first-person shooter Unreal Tournament 3 will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 in 2007". This is obviously outdated and I don't think it was ever true. The PC version will be out next month and the PS3 and 360 versions will come out some time later. 202.89.191.212 01:27, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
UT3 is a PS3 Console exclusive. Developer has stated, they have not even started on a 360 version of UT3, and the 360 won't be capable of the UT3 (both limitations of DVD drive, and Microsoft DLC restrictions being cited as the causes). Don't expect to se UT3 on anything other than PC and PS3 for the next year or so.
Therefore it is in no way an exclusive 'console' title. To claim it as such is misleading. Virtua Fighter was not an 'exclusive' PS3 title once the 360 port was announced. Skate was not an 'exclusive' Xbox 360 title due to the 2 week gap before the the PS3 release. Furthermore, games often vary from platform to platform (multiplatform games that lack online support for the PS3 for example), that does not make them exclusive to specific platforms. You are twisting the meaning of 'exclusive' beyond common parlance and this is unhelpful. It is clearly a non-exclusive multiplatform game with platform specific versions and varied release dates. Unless you suggest an intelligible reason why this isn't so the noted sentence should be removed or modified in order to reflect the facts.
why are the usb 4x and 2x cells the same colour? it doesn't make sense. yellow colour is supposed to be used to show "partial" difference with the full spec. like hard or soft emulation, now with everything green there is no difference at all. it gets confusing to newcomers. CNN says, "The new low-end model won't be able to play games made for the PlayStation 2." [8] This article on Wikipedia says (in the table) that the new 40GB PS3 does not have PS2 compatibility, but in other places it says that compatibility is (or formerly was?) provided through software. Which is it? I find it shocking that Sony would completely remove support for PS2 games from the PS3, but this article and CNN both seem clear that this is what's happened. With this reference still requiring that the section be modified and most likely shortened with more specific reference to PlayStation 3 configurations i have created and placed a table over the wording of the section and, as such viewing the release data in a table is much easier to read and view, rather the the many sentences specifying basically announced and then the release date. This way there will be less space taken by this section by those many references. I have left all the previous wording underneath the table so that i can get an opinion on whether people prefer the lengthy wording or a table specifying the same data. I am also not familiar with joining citations to the data so there is yet none connected to the table. As for the table, yes there already is a table about release information but that table does not clarify both the release and current price only one which is not the best reference also strangely contains alot of un-needed information on the (USD) for every region? which is odd as Wikipedia is worldwide, Like the previous wording of the section the table is by date. All the information in the table is from the previous wording there are a few gaps as not all prices word specified and or every region. Denzelio 01:33, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

To many, the PS3 is to expensive, and they will go after the so-called cheaper Xbox 360. But when you look at the bigger picture, the PS3 is easily the better deal. It comes with many things that 360 owners will have to pay extra for. Free Blu Ray player, free wi-fi, free online service, and an updateable HDD are just some examples. The 360 elite is $500 (i think), but when you add the HD DVD player($150), the wi-fi ($100), 6 years of Xbox Live ($420), and 4 cotroller recharging kits ($80), you get almost $1250. That is way more than the PS3's $600.
I just guessed most of these prices (but I know they are pretty close) to roughly show people the true price of the 360, so feel free to put different prices (as long as you are sure that they are real).

Many reports, including ones quotes in the main article, indicate that the initial PS3 units contained the Emotion Engine (EE) of PlayStation 2.

As you have stated in the article, there will be a 40 GB PS3 in the nearby future but will it be in North America? if so, will the package contain a High Definition Media Interface wire? I would deeply appreciate to hear a response between now and late November. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.199.196.226 ( talk) 13:07, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

As Already mentioned the 40GB U.S. PS3 will be the same as the 40GB PAL PS3 Model, Non PS2 Compatible. Will Retail for $400 and Release date is the 2nd of November

Either way, the article should be clarified. - Brian Kendig 20:59, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

I think it would be appropriate to add the current prices in the table that compares the different versions. For models that are no longer officially available, the last official MSRP could be added with an asterisk to mention that it is no longer sold.-- SkiDragon 09:30, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
I was under the impression that the PS3 will only work with "plug and play" keyboards and mice. If this is true, the article should make it clear. 62.25.106.209 14:59, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
i think it should be noted that the price of the ps3 high end and low end model is the same in the us as it is in canada.

Does anyone want to work with me on a advertising section of the PlayStation 3? There is a lot of stuff for it. Like the new Entertainment Universe, different slogans, and critism on the original ads like the crying baby.-- Playstationdude 00:13, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Can anyone confirm whether the 40GB model has Wi-Fi support? The article currently contradicts itself on this matter - the infobox at the top of the page states that only the 60GB and 80GB models have Wi-Fi, but the "Retail configurations" section indicates that all models except the 20GB one have it. 217.155.20.163 14:33, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

The playstation 3 has outsold the Wii for the seconf week in a row. As this is probably due to the price cut ad is likely to continue, I think this needs to be added to the sales section Einstein the afrodude ( talk) 14:28, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
According to Enterbrain, the PS3 sold 183,217 units in November in Japan, outselling the Wii’s 159,193 consoles. while this isn't an enormous amount, it is notable since this is the first month the PS3 has beaten the Wii in sales. Einstein the afrodude 20:38, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
