The original source cited at the beginning was later noted as dead ( http://death-records.mooseroots.com/l/134805048/Phil-M-Sokolof [dead link]), and a "citation needed" note added. I've removed that material and added the source used at the end of the article. (There are actually two sources to choose from: one from LA Times and one from NY Times. The first and second source citings are actually the same article. The one used multiple times is an archived version, whereas the other is from the original source (LA Times.) It would be nice if someone wanted to take on cleaning that up. Ghost writer's cat ( talk) 01:10, 30 June 2024 (UTC)
