"The ship returns home in a hurricane and she drowns, Paul nearly dies in a vain attempt to save her." Perhaps you could rewrite to: "The ship returns home in a hurricane and she drowns, with Paul nearly dying in an vain attempt to save her."
What does "rude cottages" mean nowadays? Can it be linked?
This comes from the official release and it is like roughly built or crude - it is not elegant. The only thing worth linking would be a dictionary definition of rude.

"Cameramen employed by the company during this era included Blair Smith, Carl Louis Gregory, and Alfred H. Moses, Jr. though none are specifically credited. The role of the cameraman was uncredited in 1910 productions." Perhaps you could rewrite to: "Cameramen employed by the company during this era included Blair Smith, Carl Louis Gregory, and Alfred H. Moses, Jr. though none are specifically credited as the role of the cameraman was uncredited in 1910 productions."
"by unnecessary taking a jab at a film to bolster another Licensed company." Why is licensed capitalized? Also "by unnecessary taking a jab" doesn't sound right. I am pretty sure unnecessary can be rewritten.
