I did a few fix-ups. Added a minor addendum to the computer section and the movie section, removed some bad wikitext and a nonexistent picture ref from the photography section, as well as literally describing the visual effect panning has on photographs. It's too bad the picture went missing, that section really needs a picture in addition to a description. I have no examples in my files that would be uploadable. 137.246.200.49 18:50, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
This article has a animated gif image, but this kind of animations presents some accessibility issues. The animation should only be activated if the user specifically desires so. — surueña 09:17, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
The article would be improved by a discussion on how the "panning" look is achieved in still photography. Is it created by actually moving (panning) the camera during the exposure, and if so, how is the moving foreground object kept in focus? (i.e. how is the rate of camera movement synced with the rate of object movement.) -- 17:11, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Panning (photography) → Panning (camera) — It was moved to Panning photography, which was lame, but I didn't realize it was moved before I moved it myself to panning (photography); all the links are to panning (camera), so we ought to just put it back there, but due to my intermediate move, I can't do that so easily now; need to ask an admin, hence this discussion in case anyone objects. — Dicklyon ( talk) 06:24, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

User:ESCapade has said on my talk page that "I figure out the four types of panning myself, it is just logical." Therefore, since the whole article structure is now based on unsourced original research, it needs to be reverted or at least fixed up. Dicklyon ( talk) 16:06, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm continuing to write panning photography as review upon this article. Please do not use this page to review my idea. ESCapade ( talk) 03:12, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
This is one of convergent panning photographs, that's the original raw file for download. Happy review, feel free to comment. Thank you. ESCapade ( talk) 09:17, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:DTM Mercedes W204 DiResta09 amk.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on August 3, 2010. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2010-08-03. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng { chat} 18:23, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
The Online Etymological Dictionary clearly supports the suggested etymology of the term panning. Anyone have a paper etymology dictionary to cite?
