Pakhala is little similar to
Panta bhat, and is an older term and should be a major article, and should not be merged with that article, Infact there are several cuisines made from Pakhala like, Jeera Pakhala, Dahi Pakhala, Garama Pakhala, Basi pakhala, etc which makes this a main Food category. ----ସୁଭପାSubha PaUtter2me!15:48, 3 May 2011 (UTC)reply
True, but the way it is written slightly skirts that. Maybe better would be wording like "...consists of rice that has been....with the addition of cumin that was fried...and then...." Thoughts?

Splendid. It think the section serves visitors without the nasty "add 2 cups of X" presentation. (Of course X = eggs in Germany, as in "I vant 2 X and some M -- ya, M and X, hurry, I am hungry -- and on a rigid schedule. I must leave at precisely 07:43.")
