There is a mess regarding names of post-1945 factories and aircraft designations. I don't know when Union of Aerospace Industry became Union of Aerospace and Engine Industry PZL (ZPLiS PZL). My educated guess is, that soon after end of stalinism in 1956 - and around this time, first newly designed planes with PZL name started to appear ( PZL-101 Gawron, PZL M-2), even though factories were named WSK. I can't figure out, if (and when) WSK-Mielec was renamed WSK PZL-Mielec - possibly only after 1989. Also, I can't find reliable information, if some aircraft officially carried designation PZL, especially TS-8 and TS-11. Evidently during a period 1950-1956 the designation PZL was non-existent at all (probably it was banned as pre-war "capitalist" one). aircraft Pibwl ←« 20:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Today most of these companies are independent entities. Thus I would suggest that the main article "PZL" be of a retrospective or historical nature and separate articles be made for all companies that emerged out of the PZL idustrial complex. PZL-Mielec is now owned by the Sikorsky unit of United Technologies Corp. PZL-Rzeszow is also owned by UTC, PZL-Okecie is nowdays owned by EADS-CASA while PZL-Swidnik is part owned by Agusta-Westland and so on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.114.221.10 ( talk) 17:04, 27 December 2008 (UTC)
