This is the first WIKI edit I have attempted, so... You give an example of ORS as 'Sweetheart Abbey'(with Photo). I have consulted BGS (I am not a geologist) and they opine that it is New Red Sandstone, mined in the Dumfries Basin. I believe them! 92.235.217.116 ( talk) 20:26, 4 March 2010 (UTC)

There is I understand Old Red Sandstone on the surface at the southerly tip of the Cowal peninsula at Toward point.
