I've put this article together based on the very little information I was able to find. If you have access to more information (particularly the book listed in the article) please add to this article. Additionally, if you attended or instructed at Scheyville, you might have knowledge of little inaccuracies, or things I've missed so it would be great to get your input. Anyway, some ideas I have for improvements:
As I said, I have a limited knowledge of Scheyville, so if you know more please feel free to make whatever changes you like. It can only improve the article. AustralianRupert ( talk) 00:11, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

This page is mis-labelled. It refers to Officer Training Unit [OTU] Scheyville which trained National Servicemen to Second Lieutenant level in what was then called the Australian Regular Army [ARA]. It should be changed to Officer Training Unit, Scheyville.
Officer Cadet Training Unit [OCTU] was a unit maintained by Eastern Command for the training of Second Lieutenants in the Citizens' Military Forces or as it became later, the Army Reserve. This was an eigtheen month or twenty four month course. Shorter courses were metroplolitan based and had parades one evening a week: longer courses were country based and had 5 camps and a number of weekends. Other Commands in the Australian Army probably had an OCTU unit to provide their CMF or Army Reserve officers. I graduated from 13 Course, Eastern Command Officer Cadet Training Unit early in 1972 as a Second Lieutenant and was posted to an Artillery unit. I |
