Maybe keep conversation here (as there are three pages involved): Talk:New_Zealand_Railways_Corporation#Rationalising New Zealand Railways Corporation, ONTRACK and KiwiRail

There is a bit much history in the KiwiRail article, some of it could be relocated to Rail transport in New Zealand or the Corporation or ONTRACK articles. I'll do this in a month or so if nobody objects.
Looks like ONTRACK is no more. I propose we merge that article with KiwiRail. --LJ Holden 07:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
I agree with this merge proposal. -- Lholden 04:17, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
I agree Birdhurst 12:39, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
I removed the below text because it is uncited and potentially POV. I can't find any citations for it on the ONTRACK website either.
Thoughts? -- Lholden ( talk) 06:28, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
The image Image:Flyingtomato.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

Yes I agree lets do it ( Ddogg2 ( talk) 03:30, 11 October 2008 (UTC))
I disagree. The NZ Railways Corporation ought to have its own article to contain historical information about NZRC - i.e. the stuff that's ended up on the ONTRACK article. Kiwirail should be a separate article also. -- Lholden ( talk) 02:05, 6 November 2008 (UTC)
I disagree; NZRC, ONTRACK and Kiwirail should all be separate articles.
I also disagree. The topic suits its own article. -- Alan Liefting ( talk) - 05:02, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
This article should now be moved to "KiwiRail Network", since (according to the latest RailFan) the company has now been renamed. -- Lholden ( talk) 06:47, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
I assume once Transdev takes over the Wellington contract, Tranz Metro ceases to exist as a KiwiRail division? Should we create a "Transdev Wellington" page and shift over the info in this article? -- LJ Holden 23:24, 20 January 2016 (UTC)
I was looking for somewhere to record the use of plastic track in 2021 for tunnels, bridges and points. Its use in 2012 has a paragraph, but there seem to be no links to that from NZ rail articles.
Although there's a Category:Rail infrastructure in New Zealand, there's no one article, or section covering permanent way and its development in New Zealand. Should there be and, if so, here, in Rail transport in New Zealand, or where? It could link to Category:Railway bridges in New Zealand, tunnels and what else?
Do any articles cover track weight, profile, or maintenance? Johnragla ( talk) 22:40, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
So at the current we have about 4 different catergorys for various KIWIRAIL plans, I believe it looks very messy and is lacking a lot of new plans such as the multi billion dollar freight yard in Palmerston North, what are you guys thoughts to reconsolidating all their past, current and future projects into 1-2 categories and making it up to date. Potentially a colour coded table with headings such as "planned" "active" and "completed". We could also potentially make the table have a blue hyper link to a page that goes into the plan in more detail. Kiwi manz ( talk) 23:51, 18 November 2023 (UTC)
