There seems to be a contradiction between these two phrases:
"Neurospora crassa is a type of red bread mold of the phylum Ascomycota. . . . In its natural environment, N. crassa lives mainly in tropical and sub-tropical regions. It can be found growing on dead plant matter after fires."

Should have the class Sordariomycetes, not Ascomycetes. Division is Ascomycota.

Is the total number of genes exactly 9,730 or just 'approximately 10.000'? Maybe a source could be useful. GianMarco Tavazzani ( talk) 07:06, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
