I see that you've reverted my edit re NORDO being a US term. Fair enough, you're from Canada, if you use it there it's by definition not a US-only term. However is "NORDO" used outside North America then? It certainly isn't used here in the UK (RDOF is the UK equivalent, although it's not very widely used) and I haven't heard of it used in other European countries.
