Did the NHA play outdoor games? If so, some coverage in the history section would be good, as it would provide background, as the immediate predecessor league to the NHL. -- 65.94.78.9 ( talk) 13:30, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
I believe this edit gives undue weight to the statistical performance of players in outdoor games, and so should be reverted. What does everyone think? isaacl ( talk) 06:04, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
The alumni games should receive better coverage on this page and in the articles since it has become customary to hold these alumni games. Not every game is chronicled in the respective article, the best ones seems to be the Rangers/Flyers and Toronto/Detroit alumni games with full rosters and summary. There probably should also be a table here just for alumni games with dates and scores. Jmj713 ( talk) 13:23, 28 February 2016 (UTC)
What defines a non-NHL (neutral site) market? The Hosting statistics section states, "*No non-NHL (neutral site) market has yet hosted a regular season outdoor game." It was recently updated to add, " Notre Dame, Indiana will be the first non-NHL market to host an outdoor game when it hosts the 2019 Winter Classic." The 2019 NHL Winter Classic page notes that this is "95 miles (153 km) from the ostensible home team's base in Chicago". The 2014 NHL Winter Classic was played about 45 miles (72 km) from home; the 2018 NHL Stadium Series game will be played about 30 miles (48 km) from home. So what's a neutral site? -- Pemilligan ( talk) 18:53, 1 January 2018 (UTC)
someone pls explain to me -- if the tahoe games are intended "to compensate for the postponed winter classic and stadium series", why don't they just invite the 3 teams slated for THOSE?! it seems like insult to injury for the wild, blues and hurricanes to be told "maybe next year" while bringing in 4 NEW TEAMS!!!!
what gives? 66.30.47.138 ( talk) 03:57, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
the source in question is not actually calling the tahoe games that -- he is jokingly comparing them to the fictional town in an old movie.
i have changed the entries to "tahoe games". that can serve as a placeholder until we have an official name. 66.30.47.138 ( talk) 23:47, 2 January 2021 (UTC)
