Some sources seem to disagree with 15 January. This and this say it was either the 16th or the 17th, and this refers to 6 January, which can be explained by the 10-day difference between the OS and NS calendars, thus it's equivalent to 16 January NS. -- JackofOz ( talk) 07:13, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
Please have a look, Fahriye's birthday, also her mother was not safiye, also Fatma was not safiyes daughter only Ayshe.

This article relies quite a bit upon Özgen Felek's thesis, 'Re-creating image and identity'. Now this may very well be a totally reliable source and the information in the article may all be accurate, but given how it's a Ph.D. thesis it would be good for editors to verify whatever they can with other modern scholarly sources as well.
