Does anyone know of the current location of one or more of the Gondola cars ceased in the 90's?
Image:French Quarter Undercover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Based on a reference in the Engineering News-Record this article claims:
However, the Roosevelt Island Tramway opened in 1976, about 8 years before the Mississippi Aerial River Transit. The Roosevelt Island Tramway was of the type known to wikipedia editors as an aerial tramway not of the gondola lift type that MART was. In terms of size (using either route miles or number of employee metrics) it might be noted that the Union Pacific Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad, the New York Central Railroad, and the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad were each much larger than the MART was when it was operating (although none of those privately held railroad companies were operating as private companies in 1984). In 1984 the Greyhound Lines, the Peter Pan Bus Lines, and the Trailways Transportation System companies were each privately held and each was much larger than the MART operation. Hence I think the size claim should be removed. Since the distinction between an aerial tramway and a gondola lift is a subtle technical one that may escape the notice of many readers, perhaps the claim could be rewritten with an expanded footnote along the lines of the following: 69.119.27.73 ( talk) 13:06, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
