... that in 1999, ballerina Miranda Weese performed the lead role in a televised performance of Swan Lake under an hour's notice, with a partner she had never rehearsed with? Source: "Miranda Weese stepped into the lead role in 'Swan Lake' on an hour's notice on Wednesday night in a PBS 'Live From Lincoln Center' broadcast of Peter Martins's new production for the New York City Ballet... Interesting life, on fine sources, no copyvio obvious. I approve the hook, but don't believe that we need the "1999" bit. - In the article, please check "retire" in two consecutive sentences. --

Thanks for the review. A hook without the "1999" bit: ALT0a: ... that ballerina Miranda Weese performed the lead role in a televised performance of Swan Lake under an hour's notice, with a partner she had never rehearsed with?
I had also rephrased one of the sentences so only one sentence used the word "retire."
