Mattjs 22:48, 14 September 2006 (UTC)I suggested in the discussion on the Mindfulness page splitting the article or adding a Mindfulness-based Therapy page:
Any ideas or suggestions??? User:Mattjs
hi I'm Karley. I've been working on the MBCT page a lot attempting to clean it up. Would someone like to look at it and give me pointers? I'm not sure what clean up actually is but I've added references and lots more info. the original info was a webpage someone just copied and pasted on. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Karley1 ( talk • contribs) 4 November 2006, 21:33
Hey this is Karley again. So, I've been working on this page for a couple of months and have made tremendous changes. Nobody has said anything so I am assuming it is okay. Let me know what you think and if more cleanup is necessary. Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Karley1 ( talk • contribs) 7 December 2006, 01:57)

.Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is one of the therapeutic applications of mindfulness. Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is another. ACT is derived from these techniques.
Mindfulness-based therapy should no longer be considered a part of alternative medicine as it is widely used in mainstream (particularly psychological) treatment, especially for sufferers of chronic pain and severe depression. A lot of systematic, emperical research has been done, which has shown that it works.
Stigmatising this treatment by calling it "alternative" is possibly hazardous to the health of those who might gain from mindfulness.
This article needs expanding. The Wikipedia also needs an article on MBSR.

Hello! I noticed that in the last paragraph of the first section, it mentions that research supports the idea that this type of therapy reduces cravings for those with substance use issues, yet there is no citation here. Does anyone know of a good source that can be used to support this claim? Mmnwilde ( talk) 23:23, 19 January 2022 (UTC)mmnwilde
Mindfulness and mindfulness meditation cannot seriously be described as being new or newer... 31.51.127.28 ( talk) 17:24, 23 November 2012 (UTC)
This study compiles several studies and shows that mindfulness is not effective in treating depression or anxiety. I'm not good at editing Wikipedia, but this is rather useful IMO

Hi everyone, I am working on this article for an assignment. I was thinking about adding in some information on MBCT practices and benefits that might stem from it. So far, I have been looking in particularly at mindfulness-based stress reduction and considering on adding a small section on that as well as expanding on potential benefits of MBCT Grgarcia5 ( talk) 16:22, 15 April 2019 (UTC)
