The article currently gives only a partial view of the history and types of quarrying at Meldon.
This field-trip description gives a much wider view, talking about the original limestone quarry, feeding lime kilns. It also describes the attempt to mine the Meldon
aplite for glass production. There is actually a lot of material that discusses this quarry that could be use to significantly expand the article. One of these days I may get round to it.
