Matija Sarkic →
Matija Šarkić – Although he was born in England, Montenegro's football association (which he now represents internationally as of November 2019)
spells his name with the diacritics. There are countless examples of this among Montenegrin newspapers and sports portals, including
this article and
another one from Montenegro's state broadcaster. Furthermore, there are several precedents of English-born, or individuals born outside of countries using such diacritics in their alphabets. Just some examples of English-born individuals whose names on Wikipedia are spelled with such accents include, but are not limited to:
Carla Mendonça,
Jason Tahincioğlu,
Ayşe Tezel, and
Adé Bantu. Similarly, such examples are seen in articles like those of
İlkay Gündoğan and
Sergej Milinković-Savić, both of whom were born in countries whose alphabets do not have the diacritics in either of their names!

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Matija Sarkic's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

According to the lede, Sarkic was born in 1997. However, the death section, it says he was 26 when he died. Either the DoB on the article is incorrect, as he would be 24 this year, or the material used in the reference indicating his death at the age of 26, had made an error. Can we get this checked please, so the correct information is shown? Thanks. Dane| Geld 22:55, 15 June 2024 (UTC)
