A fact from Lou Daukas appeared on Wikipedia's
Main Page in the Did you know column on 3 January 2024 (
check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Added sportspeople from Nashua cat. I know he is already in the baseball one, but he should be in both until a football one is made. Also added army, St. John's University School of Law alumni and American lawyer cats
Link fort warren WY?
Linked.
Probably couldn't find stats for his college career, right? Being a center and from the 40s, I don't really expect any.
Wasn't able to find any.
"Eastern College Football All-Star team which" comma after team
Done.
That's all I think. Very nice work.

Also, I suggest archiving the ebay source for the image because that is not going to last.

Did you know nomination
The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as
this nomination's talk page,

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can tell, both hooks are misleading as he never actually played in the NFL, but rather the AAFC (which later merged with the NFL). As such, neither hook as currently written is accurate. Maybe this would be better then?
Had to specify it's American football to avoid ambiguity, but it could be shortened/piped to just "football" if desired.

Two issues: 1. the nominator has not responded to the above review, and 2. despite both a ping and a talk page message, a QPQ has not been provided. As such, the nomination is now marked for closure, but may resume if the nominator provides a QPQ.

Very sorry for the delay - time's been going by much faster than it feels like for me - I didn't realize it had been this long - I will make sure to get a QPQ and address the issues soon.

@
Narutolovehinata5: Just added QPQ, as for the hook, thanks for noticing that - whoops! - it was the AAFC, so your proposed ALT is good (though maybe something like the following would be a little more interesting?: ALT3 ... that Lou Daukas was a professional
football-playing lawyer?). Again, sorry for taking so long.
BeanieFan11 (

I'm not sure if ALT3 works since apparently he became a lawyer after his playing career. Had he been a lawyer while playing American football, ALT3 or some variant may have worked.

Guess we'll have to go with ALT2 then.
BeanieFan11 (

Since a QPQ has now been provided, changing to this so that it won't be closed prematurely.

I had been waiting for a response from BeanieFan, which only came today. In any case, if there are no further objections or issues, this can now receive a full review.

Long enough, new enough. All paras have a cite and ALT2 cited, sourced, and interesting. No copyright issues found, no neutrality issues found, no maintenance templates found. Let's roll.--Launchballer 11:18, 21 December 2023 (UTC)reply
