Just a question, guys. 28 June 1882: that's definitely his date of birth, is it? Not the date of baptism? People were routinely christened a long time after birth in those days - and the Davies-Garland Wales Who Who says Lot Jones was born in April... As I say, I'm just looking for confirmation. Follow-up reply from Ian garland, of the Who's Who: 'The birth of “April 1882” came from a relative. Re 28/6/1882 – as you say, it could well be his christening at a couple of months old.
