2014 hencewhile lead developer Rob McConnel took over leadership of the company.
Since Longbow Games is a developer independent of big publishing houses, its projects mainly emerged from the personal interests of its co-owners.
In 2017/2018 Longbow yet took another turn with the creation the puzzle adventure game Golem.
Initially the company aimed to sell its titles via its own online store, but abandoned that approach later on, profering to sell via distribution platforms.
However, funding the development of larger, more complex projects, Longbow turned to other strategies.
With its title Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar, in 2013/14 Longbow attempted Steam Early Access to gain some pre-financing and player input.
