Information

here is a whole bunch of information I removed from the sniper rifle article, it should be incorporated into this list at some point:

Abridged list of sniper rifles and their calibres

For a Full listing see: List of sniper rifles

Small caliber 'Designated Marksman Rifles'

Semi-automatic sniper rifles

Bolt-action sniper rifles

Large caliber sniper rifles

Two sniper rifle pages.

There is significant overlap between this page and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Sniper_rifles. The two pages should probably be combined.

The McMillan TAC-50 is on both the "regular" sniper list and the large caliber section. Only one has the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McMillan_TAC-50 link.

Tactical Ops?

Is there a reason for the Tango 51 linking to the video game Tactical Ops?

Redesign December 2008

I'm planning on redesigning this page starting later this week. I plan on turning it into a sortable table, with columns for rifle name, caliber, type (bolt-action, semi-automatic, etc.), country of origin, and year it entered service. I will remove the divisions in the current list and combine into one table. If anyone has any suggestions, please post them here. Ellipsis22 ( talk) 16:11, 21 December 2008 (UTC) reply

Add L115A3

An expert might want to add the L115A3. Nurg ( talk) 09:08, 16 February 2009 (UTC) reply

Wrong country for FN-FAL

It's listed as Cuba, I suspect that should be Belgium. Bobkart ( talk) 21:40, 29 November 2012 (UTC) reply

Reorder list

I intend to reorder the list in the coming days, considering the country of origin as the first criterion, followed by the year of entry into service. If any users have any objections or suggestions, please post them here. Emersonlima82 ( talk) 00:07, 6 June 2022 (UTC) reply
