The Computer algebra system section of this list lacks many programs which provide graphs. List of computer algebra systems is much more comprehensive & would serve as a good main article for this section. Samsara correctly points out that not all CAS system supports graphing. However, a majority of those listed do & it would be appropriate to cite it as a main article or at least in the section (as is currently done for Vector graphics. I don't think it belongs in See also. Either there is the intimate link I see & it should be in the main text, or the link is remote enough that there's no reason to include it. Why would non-plotting CAS packages be any more germane there? -- Karnesky 02:19, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
I do not know if I am writing this in the right section, but I noticed that Grapher is not included. This is a program that comes bundled with Mac OS X, and therefore should be included in the list. 76.176.207.218 02:39, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
This page has turned into a link farm. Seven gaeinc.com links is absurd. Two links to the same psimionescu/Fxy page is a bit excessive. This mess needs to be cleaned up. The List of statistical packages page is a good example of what this page should strive to look like. ( Requestion 18:40, 17 June 2006 (UTC))
This page should definitely say something of the scope of the mentioned software, and probably group them up according to capabilities, and syntactical similarities (e.g. MATLAB-Octave-Scilab-matplotlib, IDL-GDL-PDL, SPlus-R) It fails to mention important tools such as Processing (programming language) and IBM's Many Eyes web app. Other tools I missed to see in the list: Dislin, IDL (programming language), GNU data language (both related to PDL, IDL being the origin for those), GLE, MetaPlot, Axiom computer algebra system, Plot (Mac OSX), Vibrog ( talk) 22:34, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Image:KChart-screenshot.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. There are lots of lists of things that do more than just information graphics (stats packages, numerics tools, CAS etc) but we get less information on them.
Why not move everything into the main table and put "CAS" or "Statistics package" in the "Distinguishing feature" column. That way we could see an example image from all of them. Kipper100 ( talk) 17:58, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
It is a waste of space to have the columns: Public Domain Freeware Charityware Commercial Why not have one column "License" and put the appropriate comment in it. Kipper100 ( talk) 17:59, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
This list now has programs that have no plotting facilities or which have trivial plotting facilities and should not be listed as infographics programs. This page should not be a superset of all CAS, numerical, and statistical programs. I suggest that we remove these whole sections from the article, as it would immediately tighten up the scope. -- Karnesky ( talk) 00:35, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
It's a pity that the de-facto standard program for plots in the astronomical scientific community, SMongo, is not included.-- Gspinoza ( talk) 08:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

The image Image:EpsTk Demo3.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
