This list needs some major filling in dates, developers/publishers and genres. It seems every other list is either being dormant for quite some time or not tampered with at all. There anything that can be done or worked on? Zacharyalejandro ( talk) 05:27, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
I propose adopting a shorter
date table sorting template for release dates {{dts|2020|Jan|23}}
similar to
List of PlayStation 4 games and
List of Xbox One games.
MOS:DATEFORMAT says abbreviated
dts is a perfectly viable format "where brevity is helpful" (e.g. refs, tables, infoboxes) providing the style remains consistent throughout. A shorter date format creates more space for the first four columns and improves table readability for visitors with small or standard monitors that cannot output at high resolutions. Here's what it looks like in practice:
List of Xbox 360 games (A–L)
(M–Z).

For me, this list looks rather awkward and cluttered, so I tried my hand at reformatting the list on my sandbox. I removed the genre column (because let's be honest, games rarely fit into just one genre and genre wars among editors are always going to be a shitshow), condensed the release dates to just the initial year of release, and removed all additional descriptors outside of Xbox Live Arcade Games (no more backwards compatibility, Kinect required, etc).
Obviously the list on my sandbox is nowhere near complete, but I just created it to showcase what the page might look like. Of course there are always going to be specific problems (is it 007: Quantum of Solace or just Quantum of Solace, is AC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Pack deserving of a spot, should games like 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures 2 be linked even if they don't have a Wikipedia page) but those can always be sorted out later. I'd love to get your thoughts. Famous Hobo ( talk) 01:04, 22 May 2024 (UTC)
