"Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany" is listed as being in New York, maybe this is a joke?

Also, what about Washington DC, and Henderson Hall, and Marine Barracks 8th and I?

Question : what about units in Europe? e.g Stuttgart? 145.253.108.22 16:14, 19 January 2007 (UTC) reply

Just added Camp Lemonier, Djibouti

Though command of the Camp was handed over to the Navy in 2006, the Marines remain a presence on the base and provide security. -- Petercorless 07:22, 8 February 2007 (UTC) reply

Organization

I think the organization by location is a bit awkward. I'd like to float this idea: Reorganize by active and closed, then by MCB, MCAS, other bases, reserve locations, and detachments. People can still find locations because each installation lists its city, state/prefecture/province, and country. Thoughts? bahamut0013 02:54, 17 November 2007 (UTC) reply

I was thinking about doing something along the lines of the List of United States Air Force installations. I'll go ahead & throw what I'm doing in my user page for now. WikiMachineGhost ( talk) 09:26, 17 November 2018 (UTC) reply
I just finished drafting up the revised list. It can be seen here: User:WikiMachineGhost/sandbox/List_of_United_States_Marine_Corps_installations. It's pretty heavily revised. If I don't see any questions or comments here or on the draft's talk page for a couple of days, I'll go ahead and move it over to here. WikiMachineGhost ( talk) 11:24, 18 November 2018 (UTC) reply

What is the Latrobe Gate classified as? (It's four blocks south of the Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C.) Is the barrack located above the gate considered an installation? APK that's not my name 10:42, 24 July 2009 (UTC) reply

According to the article, it is the entrance to the Washington Navy Yard, and thus part of a Navy installation. The simple prescence of Marines doesn't make it a Marine installation, and given that it is simply a structure on a currently active base, doesn't warrant inclusion on any list of installations (at least, not any more than any other building). bahamut0013 words deeds 12:31, 24 July 2009 (UTC) reply

I wouldn't considered the camp a USMC facility. It has joint base qualities but is mostly ran by the U.S. Army.-- NortyNort (Holla) 22:58, 9 March 2011 (UTC) reply

Coordinates

Curious, why do we have latitude and longitude coordinates of each location? Is this typical in such a list? -- El on ka 20:19, 13 March 2022 (UTC) reply
