This article came up on the new requests for assessment at Wikiproject Sega (better known as The Sega Project, and so I'm here on behalf of the department to assess the article. First let me compliment what is done properly here.
That said, there are several things that need work. Here are a few pointers:
Okay, now for the final grade: At the Sega Project we use the List-class for lists, unless it's a high quality list, when the featured list (FL) class is used. This article is List-class, and of high-importance. It has the potential to be a featured list with some work, but it has a VERY LONG way to come before that can happen. Check out some featured lists for more ideas on what a featured list is, such as List of South Park episodes. If you improve it and want me to take another look, just put the article back on the New Requests at the assessment department page. Redphoenix526 ( talk) 23:25, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
I started working on rewriting the list in a better format but things have got mad at uni and I rarely have the time to sit down and work on it. Feel free to continue and add bits every now and then!
I'd like to invite anyone contributing to this list to take part in a discussion we are currently having on the
Talk:List of Nintendo 64 games#Removal of Alternate Titles and Number of Players where we are discussing the use of keeping alternate titles in the "List of...games" some have suggested that they take up too much space and that other columns could seem to be "useful only to fans", and other things that have been mentioned that, and other 'List of' talk pages. I think the alternate titles may be better as
Wikipedia Main Title | Year | Developer/Publisher | Regions released | Number of Players |
---|---|---|---|---|
1080° Snowboarding | 1998 | Nintendo/Nintendo | JP, NA, PAL | 1-4 |
64: Tenshi no Yakusoku | 1999 | Altron/Altron | JP | 1 |
AeroFighters Assault |
1997 | Paradigm Entertainment/ Video System | JP, NA, PAL | 1-4 |
Michael Owen's WLS 2000 RTL World League Soccer 2000GER Telefoot Soccer 2000FRA |
2000 | Silicon Dreams/ THQ and SouthPeak Games | NA, PAL | 1-4 |
Please come and give your opinion, and hopefully keep these type of concerns from arising again and again at each "List of" pages. ( Floppydog66 ( talk) 21:22, 18 December 2008 (UTC))

Change Genesis to Mega Drive.

The Genesis vs Megadrive naming debate may well be considered disruptive, but to go with Genesis by default is the wrong thing to do. Megadrive is the official name of the machine. The system was known internationally as the Sega Megadrive and was only sold as the Genesis in the American region due to the Megadrive name being trademarked by another American company, forcing it to be sold under an secondary name. The default should therefore be Megadrive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.29.214.95 ( talk) 23:40, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
Please see WP: Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section This is the correct format for lead sections indicating a bold formatting of the article topic. Expandinglight5 ( talk) 00:18, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
If other video game list pages don't follow this format, they should be updated to conform. Other pages being incorrect is not any reason for this page to be incorrect. Please post any comments here before any further revisions. Further revisions without consensus should be considered edit warring (WP:3RR) and will be taken to an administrator. The lead sentence should reference the article in bold print. This is the part that should follow the style of the lead section. Where the quantity of games is located in the lead section can be anywhere. Personally I think the lead paragraph in it's current state belongs together the way it is because that is the focus of the article. Arguably the history and background of the console is irrelevant since the article is focused on the list of games for the Sega Saturn not an article about the Sega Saturn itself. That information would typically be found on the Sega Saturn page. The content should stay focused on the subject of the particular article.
If you feel it makes more sense to move the sentence about the quantity of games further down in the lead paragraph closer to the list, I can see where that makes sense and I would be fine with that as I'm sure other editors would be as well. I'm happy to discuss further if you wish. Expandinglight5 ( talk) 02:50, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
