Surnames

Where have some of these surnames come from? I know Hyacinth and Richard's, Elizabeth and Emmet's surnames were revealed during the show but when were Onslow and Daisy ever called the Smiths? And Rose Morrell? And also the surnames of Voilet, the vicar and the Major? I suspect someone has made them up as I have never heard them called that on the show. The Major's surname was mentioned in the episode "Golfing with the Major".

Merger proposal

Do characters such as Richard Bucket really need an article with no third person articles to support it. Dwanyewest ( talk) 00:51, 15 January 2014 (UTC) reply

Sheridan and Richard

I have removed the snippet, "Sheridan and Richard clearly do not get on." but left in "Sheridan prefers not to talk to Richard and has been known to pretend to be someone else whenever he calls and Richard answers the phone". I haven't seen the episode in question but I assume it's just that Sheridan wanted to talk to Hyacinth so she would send him money. It would sort of go against one of the premises of the show for anyone to not like Richard. Adpete ( talk) 00:40, 14 July 2018 (UTC) reply

This week I saw that episode and that's exactly what happened: he wanted Hyacinth so he could ask for money. Adpete ( talk) 01:21, 28 July 2018 (UTC) reply

Are Hyacinth and Richard really lower middle class?

I disagree with the article saying they are lower middle class. I would consider them barely upper middle class based on Richard's job, the neighborhood they live in, and their possessions. Stevebradley1 ( talk) 17:56, 16 October 2018 (UTC) reply

I came intending to post the same thing. Richard is a mid-level civil servant with the County Council. To me that's middle class. I'm going to change it. Toyokuni3 ( talk) 16:36, 1 February 2019 (UTC) reply
They are not upper middle class but middle class. Her upbringing was lower/working class. -- Willthacheerleader18 ( talk) 17:58, 1 February 2019 (UTC) reply

Walton?

Where does the surname Walton come from as a maiden name for Hyacinth and her sisters I never heard it mentioned in any episode? Penrithguy ( talk) 20:32, 12 June 2019 (UTC) reply

Bruce

Is Bruce trans? At one point they wanted to be referred to by a female name. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.68.79.20 ( talk) 07:27, 29 March 2021 (UTC) reply
