From January 1982 onwards, studios use the weekend chart for box office placings, beginning Friday through to Sunday. Prior to that, there was never a weekend chart. It was a weekly chart on Wednesdays, compiled by the "Variety" magazine. This is explained in the book by Leonidas Fragias. 82.38.203.41 ( talk) 18:57, 5 October 2019 (UTC) reply
