I am removing the statement "Lead shielding is used near areas where depleted uranium shells are being fired.". As DU is only slightly radioactive and is itself used for shielding purposes I do not believe to be correct. If a reference is provided I would be delighted to be proved wrong. Article should mention the 70-80keV hard X-rays created on the lead shielding (as seen in spectroscopy) and what causes it. There are probably other peaks created as well. Charlieb000 ( talk) 01:25, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
I think that the Demron reference should be removed from this article, as alternatives should be covered in radiation protection. Thoughts? -- nbach ( talk) 08:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
