My dad said he was at this airbase in April 44, he came across it in a patrol. He said it was abandoned, and there were supplies lying around which they destroyed, then went into the hills to track down Japs. If the base was like this 5 months before the primary allied landing, I'm guessing it wasn't much of a fight. —Preceding
