It was proposed to merge Body language into Kinesics.
I removed the merge tag for now, as the only respondents want to keep the article seperate. If someone wants to make the case for a merge, please do so on this talk page.

Oppose: not the same, kinesics is a subtopic. There will be plenty of sources for eachindividually. 172.141.154.80 23:01, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
If they merge, body language should be a subtopic of Kinesics. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.82.217.149 ( talk) 13:34, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
I also oppose the joining. Body Language is a singular topic gaining in importance. I teach a course creating believable virtual human characters and the study of body language is an important part of that process. -P- Peter Plantec
Has there been any thought to discussing if the television show "Lie to Me" uses legitimate evaluation and observation techniques in the area of Kinesics? I believe the show should at least be discussed since more people are finding out about the topic because of it, and see it as an interesting area of study. ````JBelkin24 — Preceding unsigned comment added by JBelkin24 ( talk • contribs) 03:20, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
I've just created Category:Non-Verbal Communication as a sub-category of Communication, have a look. So far it only has one article. Feel free to edit it a bit and move some articles into it, create a few stubs, etc. I'll have a look later and perhaps add a few things myself. Tell me what you think. Ok I renamed the category as Category:Nonverbal communication and copied our discussion to the talk page there. I added the category to a few articles. Note that Wikipedia:Categorization/Categories and subcategories suggests that articles should not normally be in both parent categories (such as Category:Communication) and their sub-categories (such as Category:Nonverbal communication). ntennis 03:55, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

I've read that Erving Goffman has played a strong role in the research on kinesics, but there's no reference to this in the wiki article on him, and no reference here on the kinesics page. Does anyone know anything about this/should it be added to this page? DivineAna 16:59, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
